| 1. Tournaments are
open to JBA members properly licensed to fish tournament waters. The
Tournament Director must receive a competitor's properly executed entry form and
entry fee before the entry deadline. Entries will be accepted until 15
minutes prior to the start of the tournament. All tournaments begin at
7:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

JBA boat number fees shall be $30 per season for
teams enrolling at one of the first five tournaments, $20 for teams enrolling in
tournaments six though 10, and $10 for teams enrolling in tournaments 11 thourgh
15. The fee to compete in JBA tournaments shall be $70 per two-angler team
or $35 per one-angler team. Tournament entry fees shall be doubled for two-day
events. Prize monies shall be paid out at the rate of one place for every six
entries plus a big bass award based upon a schedule maintained by the Tournament
Director. 3. Competitors
are prohibited from fishing tournament waters on the day of the tournament prior
to tournament hours.
4. Competitors
are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and safety.
Any infraction of fundamental sporting principles may be cause for
disqualification.
5. Only artificial
lures may be used. No live or once alive bait shall be permitted, with the
exception of pork strips, rinds, etc. An individual competitor may use
only one casting, spincasting or spinning rod and reel at any one time.
Bass must be caught alive and in a sporting manner. Trolling is
prohibited.
6. Tournament boats
and motors must meet the standards of tournament waters. Maximum
horsepower for outboards shall not exceed 10 horsepower. All angling must
be done from the boat.
7. Each boat
must have a functional livewell that is properly aerated to adequately maintain
alive a limit catch of bass.
8. Tournament
waters shall be established by the Tournament Director. Fishing on
tournament waters is permitted anywhere except within 50 yards of another
competitor's boat which was first anchored with the electric trolling motor out
of the water. Such anchored boat is required to advise any other
competitor when such boat believes the competitor is within a 50-yard radius.
No such anchored or secured boat shall permit selected competitors to fish
within the 50-yard circle claimed by him to the exclusion of any other
competitor.
9. Competitors wishing
to weigh in their catch shall not remove their boat from tournament waters prior
to weigh-in.
10. Tournament
standings shall be determined by the total weight of each team's catch of
largemouth, smallmouth and/or spotted bass. The limit shall be five bass
per day. The minimum length for bass shall be 12 inches unless otherwise
established by the Tournament Director. Bass presented for weigh-in that
fail to measure the official length shall not be weighed and shall accrue
penalties at the rate of one pound for each such bass to the competitor's
weight.
11. At no time shall a
competitor have reduced to possession more than the tournament limit. At
no time shall a competitor cull a dead bass. Violators shall be
disqualified.
12. For each dead bass
weighed in, competitors shall be penalized 1/4 pound from the team's total
weight. There shall be no dead fish penalty accrued against an individual
bass being weighed in for the big bass competition.
13. Starting and
check-in times will be announced by the Tournament Director prior to the
tournament. Competitors who are late to the checkpoint area shall be
disqualified.
14.
Interpretation and enforcement of these rules shall be the responsibility of the
Tournament Director.
15. Any protest
of these rules must be made in writing to the Tournament Director not later than
15 minutes following check-in. |
